Gin & Books

brand identity & collateral
Project Overview
Gin & Books is a Denver-based experiential book club that brings tastemakers together for an evening of literary, culinary, and craft-cocktail indulgence. I was brought on board to create a visual identity and brand system that the Gin & Books team could take and run with; something design savvy and apart from traditional book club branding tropes. After diving deep into the brand to discover the Gin & Books purpose, voice, target demographic, and competitive landscape through a customized brand strategy workshop, our goal was to create an identity system that felt elevated, curated, yet still fun. The result is an identity system that appeals to book worms and tastemakers alike.

Guidelines
Small graphic details – such as the juniper berry (which gives gin its predominant flavor) and the casual script typeface – provide contrast to the otherwise discerning and bookish logomark. The flexible identity system was designed to allow for multiple logo lockups that create opportunity for added messaging. An animated gif was created for a fun social graphic they can share on their website and social.
