Gin and Books

brand identity & collateral
Project Overview
Gin & Books is a Denver-based book club that brings together literature lovers, foodies, and craft cocktail fans for a uniquely curated social experience. Events often go beyond the expected, with tarot readings, live DJs, and culinary pairings adding depth and personality to each gathering.

I was brought in to create a visual identity that felt elevated, stylish, and modern, without relying on typical book club clichés. Through a focused brand strategy workshop, we explored Gin & Books’ purpose, voice, audience, and market positioning. The result: a sophisticated yet playful identity that speaks to both readers and cocktail aficionados, reflecting the club’s vibrant, refined spirit.

Branding + identity
The brand balances sophistication with warmth. A stylized juniper berry serves as a subtle nod to the botanicals found in many craft cocktails—not just gin—evoking a sense of ritual, refinement, and seasonal flavor. A relaxed script typeface adds a touch of casual charm to the otherwise bookish logo, while a flexible system of logo lockups allows for easy adaptation across print, digital, and event materials—offering room for both utility and storytelling.
The result is a cohesive, elevated brand that captures the spirit of Gin & Books. It's welcoming, intentional, and designed to spark connection over great stories and even better cocktails.
