Gin & Books

brand identity & collateral
Project Overview
Gin & Books is a Denver-based book club that brings people together for an evening of books, food, and craft cocktails. I was brought on board to create a visual identity and brand system that the Gin & Books team could use easily—something stylish and different from traditional book club themes. After exploring the brand to understand Gin & Books' purpose, voice, audience, and competitive landscape through a customized brand strategy workshop, our goal was to create a fun yet sophisticated identity system. The result is an identity that appeals to both book lovers and cocktail enthusiasts.

Design elements
Small graphic details—such as the juniper berry, which gives gin its distinctive flavor, and the casual script typeface—provide a contrast to the otherwise sophisticated and bookish logo. The flexible identity system was designed to allow for multiple logo lockups, creating opportunities for additional messaging.
